Most church planting movements have occurred in a climate of uncertainty in society. Ask God to advance Niger’s church multiplication movement in the midst of the current political/social uncertainty.
Matthew 4:10 “Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan. For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.” The Zarma are animistic Muslim, which means in form they worship Allah but in heart they worship evil spirits. Pray that the Zarma’s stronghold of lies would be broken and they would worship the one true God in heart and form.
Luke 22:44 “And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” Lord, help us to pray earnestly and expectantly. We anticipate your answers, as we know we pray to the God who hears.
Matthew 3:15 “Jesus replied, ‘Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness’.” The Zarma have been under the harness of Islam for centuries, trying to accomplish righteousness apart from Jesus. Pray that the Zarma will accept the righteousness of Christ alone and that Jesus will remove the shame of their unrighteousness.
It’s Monday…ONE day! Would you please send an email to ONE praying friend, asking him/her to consider signing up for daily, strategic, brief prayer emails at www.PrayforNiger.org? Make sure he/she knows that a Disciple Making Movement has never happened except in the midst of extraordinary prayer. In other words, make sure your friend knows how eternally important his/her contribution of prayer will be! Thank you for sharing the opportunity to pray for Niger.
I John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them [the spirits of this world], because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” Our prayer today is that the spirit of God will overcome the spirits of the world for the Nigerien people.
Matthew 5:39 “But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” Pray that the Zarma who come to know Christ will stand firm in their faith and in the face of persecution.
Pray for unreached people groups of Niger. The Zarma have great influence both socially and politically in Niger. Pray that God will give the Zarma believers boldness to share the Gospel with their own people; that His disciples would make disciples.
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” The Nigerien people know worldly trouble. Pray that they find God’s overcoming peace.
Most church multiplication movements have come with a high cost for following Christ. Pray that Nigerien believers will valiantly obey Jesus’ command in Matthew 10:26-27 “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.”
Matthew 18:26-27 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.” Pray that the Zarma would come to understand and accept God’s mercy and grace.
Multiple media distribution outlets such as email, Twitter, Facebook and others are being utilized for the Pray for Niger global prayer movement. Pray that these outlets will be effective in reaching thousands of faithful prayer warriors who will commit to lift the people of Niger to the throne of God.
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Pray that the Nigerien people feel the power of God and receive salvation.
Matthew 4:10 “Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan. For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’.” Pray that the Zarma’s stronghold of lies would be broken and they would worship the one true God in heart and form.
Pray for “O”, a believer who has incredible passion for the lost. Pray that he would continue to grow in his faith and pursue the lost. Pray that God would open doors for him to share the Gospel with others and pray that he would be bold in sharing his faith where God has already opened doors for him.
