17 Jul the festival of sacrifice

Nigerien Muslims are about to celebrate Eid al-Adha, which means “Festival of Sacrifice.” This festival marks the culmination of the religious rituals on the hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. Eid al-Adha honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to Allah’s command.

  • Pray that as Nigeriens prepare to sacrifice a lamb, they would recognize that the True God of Abraham already sacrificed his own son on their behalf.
  • Pray that they would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior once and for all.
