14 Sep Important Nomadic Festival

Today, the Cure Salée (Salt Cure) festival, an important annual West African celebration, is taking place in the small town of In-Gall, in North-east Niger. More than 5,000 Nigerien Nomads and their herds have made the pilgrimage to celebrate.  The nomads gather in In-Gall at the height of rainy season because it is known for its high salt content, in order to allow their herds to be nourished by the salty grass in the region.

• Pray that the few believers among the nomadic people groups of Niger would be the “salt of the earth” among their people.“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” Matthew 5:13 
•  Pray for the unreached among the Tuareg and Wodaabé people.  Pray that they would be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Aujourd’hui, le festival de Cure Salée, une importante fête annuelle de l’Afrique de l’Ouest, se déroule dans la petite ville d’In-Gall, au nord-est du Niger. Plus de 5 000 nomades nigériens et leurs troupeaux ont fait le déplacement pour bien célébrer. Les nomades se rassemblent à In-Gall à la hauteur de la saison des pluies, car elle est connu pour sa forte teneur en sel, afin de permettre à leurs troupeaux d’être nourris par l’herbe salée de la région.

• Priez pour que les quelques croyants parmi les groupes de peuples nomades du Niger soient le “sel de la terre” parmi leur peuple.“Vous êtes le sel de toute la terre. Mais quand le sel perd son goût, comment lui rendre son bon goût? Il ne sert plus à rien. On le jette dehors et les gens marchent dessus. “Matthieu 5:13
• Priez pour les non-atteints parmi les Touaregs et Wodaabé. Priez pour qu’ils soient transformés par l’évangile de Jésus-Christ.
