Praise the Founder of Our Salvation

Hebrews 2:10 “For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Pray for a Nigerien Believer

“Micah” has struggled in his faith and has experienced tremendous loss over the past several years.  He has deceived and betrayed many of the Christians that have helped him through the years. He has endured tremendous hardships including losing several jobs, losing two infant children, and constant tension and sickness within his family. At times, Micah has sought repentance and re-dedicated his life to the Lord, but often, he slides back into familiar sin struggles.

• Pray that the Lord would convict, strengthen, and humble Micah.
• Pray that Micah would leave behind the sin that so easily entangles him and fix his eyes on Christ Jesus.

Cultural Petition

The entire country of Niger slows during Ramadan as most do not possess the strength to engage in physical labor, and it is easier to endure the denial of food by sleeping through the afternoon.

• Pray that as the pace slows throughout the country, Nigerien believers would take the time to boldly profess the Gospel to Muslims in the midst of fasting.
• Pray that many Nigerien Muslims would come to know Christ during the month of Ramadan.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

Last year during Ramadan, “Seb,” a Tuareg welder, asked a Christian friend, “Is it better to eat so that I can work and provide for my family, or should I fast and not have the sustenance to work and therefore allow my family to go hungry? Which decision honors God?” 

Seb seems to recognize that the God of the Bible is the One True God and he earnestly seeks out Christians and pleads with them to pray for him.

• Pray that during this Ramadan season, Seb wouldn’t silently believe in the God of the Bible but outwardly worship Allah.
• Pray that Seb would place his hope in the One True God who can forgive his sins, heal his pain, and guarantee eternal life in Heaven one day.

• Pray that God’s gentleness would shape, form, and inspire the Nigerien church to walk in countercultural servanthood. 
• Pray that the people of Niger would recognize the sustenance of God’s right hand and His shield of protection over their lives.

Priez pour un Croyant Nigérien

“Micah” a éprouvé beaucoup de luttes dans sa foi et a subi d’énormes pertes ces dernières années. Il a trompé et a trahi beaucoup parmi bien des Chrétiens qui l’ont aidé au fil des ans. Il a enduré des difficultés énormes, la perte de plusieurs emplois, la perte de deux nourrissons et une tension constante et la maladie au sein de sa famille, entre autres. Par moments, Micah a cherché à se repentir et a reconsacré sa vie au Seigneur, mais souvent, il s’embourbe à nouveau et se débat avec des péchés familiaux.

• Priez pour que le Seigneur convînt, fortifie, et rende Micah humble.
• Priez pour que Micah se détourne du péché dans lequel il s’embourbe si facilement et qu’il fixe ses yeux sur Christ-Jésus.

Le pays tout entier tourne au ralenti pendant le Ramadan comme la majorité des gens n’ont pas assez de force pour vaquer au travail physique et qu’il est plus facile de supporter la privation de la nourriture en dormant jusqu’au soir.

• Priez pour que pendant que le pays est au ralenti, les Chrétiens Nigériens prennent leur  temps pour proclamer audacieusement l’Evangile aux Musulmans en pleine période de jeûne.
• Priez pour que les Musulmans Nigériens parviennent à la connaissance de Christ au cours du mois de Ramadan.

Intercédez en Faveur des Perdus

L’année passée pendant le Ramadan, “Seb,” un soudeur Touareg, a demandé à un ami Chrétien : ‘’Est-ce mieux que je mange pour que je puisse subvenir aux besoins de ma famille, oubien dois-je jeûner et manquer de force pour travailler et au bout du compte laisser ma famille sans quoi manger. Laquelle des décisions honore Dieu ?’’

Seb semble comprendre que le Dieu de la Bible est le Seul Vrai Dieu et il cherche de tout son cœur les Chrétiens et les supplie de prier pour lui.

• Priez pour qu’en cette période de Ramadan, Seb ne croît pas secrètement au Dieu de la Bible, mais qu’il adore Allah ouvertement.
• Priez pour que Seb place son Espoir dans le Seul Vrai Dieu qui a le pouvoir de nous pardonner ses péchés, guérir son mal et garantir la vie éternelle au Ciel un jour.

“Tu donnes le bouclier de ton salut, Ta droite me soutient, et je deviens grand par ta bonté.” Psaumes 18:35 

• Priez pour que la bienveillance de Dieu façonne, forme et inspire l’église Nigérienne pour marcher dans l’esprit de service, attitude qui est en déphasage avec la réalité du milieu. 
• Priez pour que les populations du Niger reconnaissent le soutien de la main droite de Dieu et son bouclier de salut autour de leurs vies.
