25 Mar Ramadan 26: ask, seek, knock

Pray as the Lord leads you as you read today’s verse

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:7-11)

Praying with insight

“I Dared to Call Him Father” by Bilquis Sheikh recounts the story of a Muslim woman from Pakistan who turned to Christ. The title captures how shocking it is for Muslims to call God “Father”. Today as you pray these verses for Nigeriens, consider what comfort you take in knowing God as Father and imagine what your life might be like without this reality.

• Ask God to help Nigerien Christians from a Muslim background to continue to grow in knowing God as their Father.
• Ask for God to stir curiosity amongst Muslims to want to know more about God as our Heavenly Father.

Prier avec perspicacité

Le livre « J’ai osé l’appeler Père » de Bilquis Sheikh raconte l’histoire d’une musulmane pakistanaise qui s’est tournée vers Christ. Ce titre montre à quel point il est choquant pour les musulmans d’appeler Dieu « Père ». Aujourd’hui, en priant ces versets pour ce lieu, réfléchissez au réconfort que vous apporte le fait de connaitre Dieu comme Père et imaginez ce que serait votre vie sans cette réalité.

• Demandez à Dieu d’aider les chrétiens d’origine musulmane à continuer à croitre dans la connaissance de Dieu comme leur Père.
• Demandez à Dieu de susciter chez les musulmans la curiosité de mieux connaitre Dieu, notre Père céleste.
