In Niger, rote memorization of religious Islamic text is standard, and often brutally enforced. Yet, there are children who are eagerly memorizing scripture. Pray for their young hearts and minds that they could believe the truth in their hearts and not just say it with their mouths.

Au Niger, la mémorisation des textes religieux Islamiques est très répandue et parfois imposée de façon brutale. Cependant il existe encore des enfants qui continuent par mémoriser les écritures. Priez pour leurs tendres cœurs et pensées afin qu’ils puissent croire à la vérité dans leurs cœurs et ne se bornent pas seulement à les réciter de leurs bouches.

As Muslims, the Zarma people pray to Allah, a very impersonal god. Pray that thousands will come to know the one true God, their creator God, in a very personal way; their Father who knows what they need before they ask.
