The vision for Pray for Niger is to spread the gospel message to all Nigeriens. Our key focus is on the Zarma as they are a people of great influence politically, socially, and economically. Pray that the name of Jesus would be made famous among the Zarma and all the people of Niger.
Pray that God will raise up faithful intercessors who will stand in the gap for the Hausa people and all of the unreached of Niger.
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Pray that the Nigerien people feel the power of God and receive salvation.
Pray for “O”, a believer who has incredible passion for the lost. Pray that he would continue to grow in his faith and pursue the lost. Pray that God would open doors for him to share the Gospel with others and pray that he would be bold in sharing his faith where God has already opened doors for him
Every church multiplication movement in history has had churches planting churches (not just missionaries or a few believers planting churches). Consider joining John Piper’s prayer: “Lord, cause this revolution to turn Niger into the Antioch of West Africa and raise up a thousand powerful Pauls.”
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” The Zarma are a people living in darkness and under the oppression of a belief system that involves worshiping evil spirits. Pray that God would raise up missionaries to GO and let their light shine before the Zarma so that the name of Jesus would be made famous among them.
As the Pray for Niger global prayer movement grows, our desire is to partner with other Christian organizations serving in Niger. Pray for partnership opportunities to grow as the Pray for Niger ministry moves forward.
Luke 10:2b “…the laborers are few.” Ask the Holy Spirit to grant wisdom and favor to Missions agencies currently focusing on the Tuareg people.
Isaiah 5:26 “He lifts up a banner for the distant nations, he whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come, swiftly and speedily!” Pray that the Nigerien people hear God’s “whistle” and respond swiftly and speedily.
All church multiplication movements have depended upon lay leadership. Ask God to raise up and provide for more and more lay leaders for His church and that people wouldn’t rely on just a few “pastors” to do the work.
Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.” In this almost exclusively Muslim culture, Zarma who become Christians would be cast out of their families.
Pray that thousands will turn from Islam to a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
The vision of the Pray for Niger global prayer movement is to have over 100,000 people praying daily for the gospel to spread in Niger. Pray for an ever-increasing number of prayer warriors as this effort is launched. Spread the word to those you believe might like to join in!
The Zarma people are one of the largest unreached people groups in Niger. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers to work among the Zarma.
1 Thessalonians 2:1-2 “For you yourselves know, brothers, that our coming to you was not in vain. But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.” Pray for boldness for Nigerien Christians as they carry the gospel to their people.
Pray for a man named “K” who accepted Christ a few years ago. At the time he had four wives (as is normal in this Muslim culture). One of his wives left him, but the other three remained and have accepted Christ and now his whole family is pursuing Christ together. He has faced persecution and hard times like many Nigeriens, but he continues to have joy in all facets of life. He has a heart for young people and is using sports to reach the young people of his community. Please pray for guidance, boldness, perseverance, and that the Lord would continue to use this man for His glory.
Most church multiplication movements have come with a high cost for following Christ. Pray that Nigerien believers will valiantly obey Jesus’ command in Matthew 10:26-27 “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.”
Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
The Zarma are animistic Muslim people, following Allah and worshiping evil spirits, trying to accomplish righteousness apart from Jesus. Pray that “people of peace” would be found among the Zarma; people who have an open spirit to the good news of Jesus and will be messengers of truth to their families and communities.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 “For we know, brothers loved by God, that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.” Pray that the gospel will come to the people of Niger not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with full conviction.

Disciple Making Movements (DMM) spread the gospel by making disciples who learn to obey the Word of God and soon make other disciples. This process is then repeated again and again. The result is many new churches being planted. Pray for disciples who will make disciples.
Matthew 4:23 “Jesus went throughout Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” The Zarma look to false religion for truth, use amulets for healing, and seek false gods for hope. They believe in the supernatural world but do not know the Creator. Pray that the Zarma will seek Jesus for truth, healing, hope and salvation.
As we pray for God to move in Niger, we pray for multiplication, not just addition. As the word of God begins to spread, pray for MULTIPLICATION of true disciples who will make disciples.
Niger has a population of over 19 million people; among them are the Fulani. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send African Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ to the Fulani people.
Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” Father, we pray that all the Nigerien believers will spend time with Jesus.

Pray for God to raise up workers passionate about transforming the lives of individuals, their families, and communities throughout Niger, by establishing self-replicating communities of believers who will serve people in need, proclaim the gospel and make disciples in the cities and among the peoples of Niger.
Matthew 4:16 “The people living in darkness have seen a great light.” The Zarma are a people oppressed, living in real darkness. Pray that the Zarma will see the great light of Jesus and be saved.
