Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Pray that the Nigerien people come to know their hope and future is in God alone.
100% of church multiplication movements had extraordinary prayer. Prayer brings the heart of man into agreement with the heart of God. His will, established and waiting in heaven, is manifest on earth as we say yes! Pray Your Kingdom come Lord, to Niger as it is in heaven!
Matthew 6:8b “for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
As Muslims, the Zarma people pray to Allah, a very impersonal god. Pray that thousands will come to know the one true God, their creator God, in a very personal way; their Father who knows what they need before they ask.
The vision of Pray for Niger is to have 100,000 people praying daily for Niger. We know God will move in Niger as His people pray for His will to be done. Pray for a multitude of God’s people to commit to praying daily for Niger.
Nehemiah 9:6 “You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” Pray that the Nigerien people see God’s power and authority in his created world.
Matthew 5:39 “But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” Among the Zarma, a predominantly Muslim culture, all who confess Christ will face persecution. Pray that those who come to Christ will stand firm in their faith and in the face of persecution.
All church multiplication movements have submitted themselves to the authority of God’s Word. Pray for Nigerien Christians to have a passion for God’s Word. Pray God’s Word will become more available and that people will submit themselves to it.
Matthew 5:37 “But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.” Among the Zarma, men’s groups called Fadas are common. Men of varying ages come together for nightly gatherings to share life. Pray for men of peace to be found within the Fadas, individuals who practice genuine hospitality and display a joyful spirit who would be open to the gospel.
It’s Monday…ONE day! Would you please send an email to ONE praying friend, asking him/her to consider signing up for daily, strategic, brief prayer emails at www.PrayforNiger.org? Make sure he/she knows that a Disciple Making Movement has never happened except in the midst of extraordinary prayer. In other words, make sure your friend knows how eternally important his/her contribution of prayer will be! Thank you for sharing the opportunity to pray for Niger.
I John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them [the spirits of this world], because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” Our prayer today is that the spirit of God will overcome the spirits of the world for the Nigerien people.
Most church multiplication movements have had family based conversion patterns. Pray for breakthrough, that individuals will soon find powerful ways to engage entire families simultaneously with the gospel; that whole families might come to the Lord at once and benefit greatly from their long-term relational support.
Matthew 5:29 “If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.” The Zarma are a people following a false religion, trying to accomplish righteousness apart from Jesus. Pray that thousands will come to understand their sin and God’s grace, and will receive salvation through Jesus Christ and desire to live obediently for him.
As the Pray for Niger global prayer movement grows, our desire is to partner with other churches that support mission work in Niger. Pray for church relationships and partnerships to develop and grow as the Pray for Niger ministry moves forward.
1 Thessalonians 2:3-4 “For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive. But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.” Pray that the Nigerien people would see purity in the motives of those who proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Most church multiplication movements in history were marked by bold fearless faith. Ask God to empower Nigerien Christians to echo and live the prayer of early church believers in Acts 4:29-30): “And now, Lord, look upon their hearts and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
Matthew 5:23-24 “So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”
As Muslims, the Zarma hope that their good deeds outweigh the bad to increase their chance of going to heaven. Pray that many will come to an understanding of God’s grace through the amazing gift of His son, Jesus.
